got a job -- 2003-03-26 Isn't it weird how things work. My friend Andy says there are no coincidences. I believe him now. Just when things couldn't get much worse for Sue, she was feeling helpless and depressed, in financial need, getting divorced, things turn around for her. She applied for a maternity replacement teaching, and she got the job! She has to move again (this time Churchill, Manitoba) but the money is fabulous and she is really excited about it. This will do wonders for her self-esteem and her situation. Just when things can't get much worse for me, still unemployed, feeling hopeless, anxious all the time, I get a call from a company who saw my resume online, and wanted to meet me to discuss employment. I went to talk to them yesterday, and they want to hire me! Right now I'll be working with Canadian Tire, signing people up for credit cards. It's not a career, but it's a job, and I can do it. And this will be the much needed money I need to save if I go back to school in September. Now I wait and see if the Craft Council calls me, see if I can't work there too! All this and I find out about my Ph.D. acceptance yesterday as well! I am trying to be practical about it, I will go if I have the money to go, I refuse to get any more student loans, but god, I really want to go. I think Dr. Moore has a nice ring to it, don't you?
