my adopt-a-dog -- 2003-01-09 My sister's dog Sonny just did the funniest thing! We got a lot of snow and crappy weather these past few days and so, our backyard has lots of snow drifts. Well, needless to say, Sonny got adventurous and jumped our back fence and went on a big joyrun around the street. Now this is no small dog. Half husky, half retriever, Sonny is just under 100 pounds, and although he is gentle as a lamb, he is overly exciteable when it comes to other dogs! So I didn't know he had escaped until I hear these big barks coming from the front lawn! So, I haul ass up the stairs, and open the front door, and there is Sonny, pleased as punch sitting on my neighbour's snowdrift! I called him in, but no, he was having too much fun and took off up the street! I can't do that loud 2-finger whistle, so I called my Dad up, who came up and whistled to Sonny. Well, that mutt just jumped the fence again like he was born for the high jump! Hilarious! I swear, even though I'm allergic, I just love Sonny to bits and wouldn't trade him for the world.
